3-15-2020 - A Message From Woods Oviatt's Managing Partner - Woods Oviatt's Preparedness for Coronavirus (COVID-19)
To Our Valued Clients and Community Partners,
As the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to impact our communities, I wanted to take a moment to update you about how Woods Oviatt is managing this new reality. Woods Oviatt’s top priority is the continued well-being of our global family, which includes our team members, families, clients and communities. As such, in our day to day operations, we at Woods Oviatt are following the recommendations of the World Health Organization, U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and local authorities to assist our community in preventing the further spread of the virus, and keep our personnel healthy and safe.
We intend to maintain the full complement of client services throughout these unprecedented times. We have the necessary systems in place to do so, as our extensive technology investments over the last few years have made it relatively easy to continue operations in a decentralized fashion – whether from home or elsewhere. Should our offices need to close temporarily, Woods Oviatt has infrastructure and procedures in place to allow our lawyers and staff to work remotely to continue servicing our clients at the highest levels. As of now, the courts are extending and adapting their schedules to accommodate the pressures caused by the virus' spread. Transactional and regulatory attorneys are already adapting to these changing demands.
We will continue to take the necessary steps to ensure that the needs of the entire Woods Oviatt family and our valued clients are met effectively, efficiently and judiciously. Informed by guidance from federal, state, and local authorities, we are prepared to make real-time decisions to minimize the impact of COVID-19, even as events are rapidly unfolding.
During these uncertain times, we wish you and your loved ones continued safety. We have been here for you for 170 years and we will continue to be there for you now and in the future.
Wishing you all the best,
Mitchell S. Nusbaum, Esq. - Managing Partner
