Kate Polozie and Danielle Ridgely, attorneys from our Business & Finance Department, are hosting a 1-hour informational webinar on complying with the CTA.
Who should attend: Did you ever form an entity, such as a corporation, LLC or limited partnership? Did you ever hire someone to form an entity for you? Are you a member of the board of directors or an officer or general counsel for an entity? Do you have clients with one or more entities? Then you need to know about the beneficial owner reporting requirements because the CTA’s exemptions are designed for regulated and very large companies. The CTA also probably applies to you even if the entity is only a holding company for another asset or entity, or is wholly-owned by you (e.g., single-member LLCs). Kate and Danielle will cover issues such as who is a beneficial owner, which entities are exempt, the filing deadlines and consequences of non-compliance, and practical tips to get you through the process.
When: Note that these sessions will feature identical content and are not designed to be a series, so please choose the webinar time that works best for you:
- Thursday, November 14, 2024, from 4 pm-5 pm.
- Friday, November 15, 2024, from 8 am-9 am.
Why should you care: Significant civil and criminal penalties may be imposed for noncompliance.
Will you get credit: For attendees who have not yet heard Kate and Danielle speak on the CTA, we are offering NY CPE credit and NY CLE credit. Attendees may also be able to obtain CLE credit for another state, depending on that state’s CLE credit reciprocity rules with NY. Please check your state’s Bar Association rules to confirm your credit eligibility.
For New York State CPE we are offering 1 hour of credit in advisory services. If you are seeking credit, please contact Kelly Beauchamp at Kbeauchamp@woodsoviatt.com.
There is no cost to attend the webinar. Please click on the link below to register.
We look forward to having you join us! You can also read more about the CTA here:
